This is what Ortofon call a hybrid design, they features a mix of 7N (99. 99999%) and 6N (99. 9999%) pure copper strands of two different thicknesses. The design was chosen after exhaustive auditioning. These strands are very tightly wound to improve resolution and reduce microphony. The connectors are rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing and ensure good long term signal
