Hell to Pay orangatangEl Topia Washington is home to this grand ol grain elevator and silo but there is a story to how the town got its name. Allegedly many many years ago there was a Scottish railroad foreman who upon seeing an avalanche caused by workers remarked in his thick accent that when the powers that be find out what had happened "there was going to be hell to pay!" Over the years that foreboding prose morphed into the towns current name El Topia! I just love

i used Crystal Powdered paint (Brusho) and regular tube paint (American Journey Watercolor) to create this joyous image

There is just something magical about Sea Turtles not the least of which is the fact that on land they are -shall we say- less than graceful but under water they are poetry in motion

The title was a gift also from my Mentor and dear friend Bev Jozwiak
