The group was formed in 1997 by Gunnar rn Tynes, rvar reyjarson Smrason, and classically trained twin sisters Gya and Kristn Anna Valtsdttir. (Trivia the Valtsdttir sisters are the gals on the front of Fold Your Hands Child by Belle & Sebastian) They first met while at work on a childrens play, but it was a change of perspective after Smrason first heard Aphex Twin that most shaped the direction of the group.
