This oak's fall red to reddish orange color is magnificent when planted in the correct conditions. Pink oak works well as a shade tree or a specimen tree. Caution chlorosis (yellowing of leaves) is common in the commonly alkaline soils (pH above 7) and can severely damage this tree. Here is a link for further research on the subject of chlorosis. Sun
